Kind of anticlimactic though. Go to https://ontrack.elon.edu/servlet/com.datatel.server.servlets.webadvisor.WebAdvisor?ACTION=Login (I think that should work), login, click "Ontrack for Applicants", and then "Admissions Status". It's only a sentence long if you got in, but hey, I'll take it.

I was waitlisted, DAMNIT!!!!!

I got waitlisted too.... I really thought I was qualified for Elon-maybe too much so? I really liked this school. Bummer =

i was waitlisted too! I must say that it came as a bit of a shock though...especially considering some of the people that got in early from my school with lower stats and weak essays. My guess is that they weren't expecting so many people to apply. Anyone have any idea how much applying early plays into the process?

i think they accept like 30-40% between ed and ea...but thats a TOTAL guess.

since I was waitlisted, but I've gotten into other schools, should I even put my name on the waitlist? Anyone know the chances of being accepted off of it? I love NC and I'd love to go to school there, but if there isn't any hope then I don't wanna waste my emotional sanity haha

Put it in - I know a number of accepted students who are not attending that have not notified yet. Good Luck !! Elon is beautiful.

definatley put it in...there are going to be plenty of kids who applied to elon just to apply and really didnt have the school in mind as a first choice and when they decide where they actually want to go, they will be notifying elon...it just takes patience b/c i know some people will wait until the last minute to tell them there not going

My daughter was also waitlisted at Elon...what's kind of interesting is that she was accepted at Wake Forest (as well as a couple "most selectives" in CA such as USC). Is there such a thing as "overqualified" for Elon? LOL. Seriously, I think this underlines that at times the process can be pretty random. We had thought her chances were better at Elon than Wake and it turned out to be the opposite.

We are hoping to visit Wake Forest in April and praying about the financial aid as that's edging toward being her #1 choice due to class size, etc. (We have relatives in NC.) Good luck to all the other Elon applicants!

there definatley is probably some consideration with "overqualified" students b/c the colleges feel that they are only applying as a safety and really dont want to attend...unfortunatley when you do this and they dont get into safeties for being too qualified and dont get into reaches because they are underqualified or there are just too many applicants...theres a problem.

basically...colleges arent making it easy for us!

<<unfortunatley when="" you="" do="" this="" and="" they="" dont="" get="" into="" safeties="" for="" being="" too="" qualified="" reaches="" because="" are="" underqualified="" or="" there="" just="" many="" applicants...theres="" a="" problem.="">></unfortunatley>

That's a very interesting point!!

Ironically she was very interested in Elon since she heard it discussed on a radio talk show here...but she'll be fine going to Wake Forest or another school... :)

Thanks for the ideas on the app. process.

i actually didnt like wake forest when i visited it
don't get me wrong, everything seems perfect there, except one thing
the students
they all seemed to be very into themselves judgemental
also, while there is more minorities at wake, it seemed they were very separated from the rest of the student population while at elon everyone seemed to accept everyone (including visitors)

Thanks for sharing your impressions of Wake Forest. We're talking to as many people as possible to decide whether or not to visit.

my best friend is waitlisted at elon. how many people off the waitlist do you think they accept?

i think it's definitely benificial to visit
just keep in mind when you do visit that you're going to have to live with these people for four years and if that's the kind of environment you'd want to be in. for me, it wasn't so i didn't even bother applying

also, i wasn't impressed with their dorms, to be very honest

That's funny - My D and I thought the dorms were pretty nice - individual controls for heat and a/c was a nice touch. Just goes to show that everybody sees something different.
I will say my E thought she would love Elon for a year or two, but was afraid she would be sick of it in 4 years ( due to size mostly).
Everybody will find the place that is right for them and that is the beauty of it...

although relatively small, i think 4k+ students is perfect (for me).

the other part of it is that i have been told that many other college students from surrounding campus' often come to elon, so there is much opportunity to meet new people, even on campus!

We have a friend from our large high school who attends Elon now and loves it there. She feels the size is perfect for her as well. I hope everything works out well for you !

Anyone here going to Spring Weekend on Friday?

yup! i am :-)
