Hey guys, please stop interrogating Grace. She’s here to help us, sheesh. If you have questions, ask nicely.

Wait time is not correlated with rejection/deferral. Please be patient. We have about 6,000 anxious HS seniors trying to check their decisions right now, and the volume is overloading our servers. I apologize for any inconvenience, but there is no way we can immediately remedy this situation except to encourage students to wait until you receive your e-mail notification to try and access your account.

wait, so could you tell me why i received a letter, but didn’t get a decision yet? thanks.

I don’t think you’re understanding us, Grace. We’ve gotten the email (2+ hours ago, in fact), but there still is no decision on our account.

I still didn’t get my email

Guys calm the heck down please! And for those thinking you will be rejected because you didn’t receive a decision, my interviewer alumni told me she received her decision on the 16th, while all her friends received them on the 15th.

No, I understand the issue of not being able to access decisions even though you’ve received an e-mail. Please wait and keep checking in. If you still cannot access your decision by 10pm CST tonight, please email hemphill@uchicago.edu/email to let her know and we’ll try to correct the problem as soon as possible thereafter.

I just logged into my account but all i get is just the regular “welcome to your chicago account” page. Where exactly do you see your decision?

i got the email on the account i gave to collegeboard, not the one i used to apply, does that have something to do with it?

Grace, I asked this on your PM thread, too. Can you just let us know:

Will you be able to confirm for us when all decisions are “uploaded”?

How much longer do you think this ought to take?

Our last batch of e-mails will go out at 8pm CST. Our servers have been overloaded all day (please don’t ask me questions about them, I’m not the techie ) and there has been some delay in e-mail sendout/availability of decisions online. Everyone should be able to access their decision in their account by 10pm CST this evening; if you cannot by then, please e-mail our Chicago Account coordinator.

Okay, that is good news - just 4.2 hours. Not too bad.

THANK YOU.

This is probably unrelated, but is it not possible to rent server space?

I already viewed my decision and everything but the email never came. So dont stress about the email, just go check your account.

I just got my decision…there’s no way…

Deferred.

Stats: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-chicago/828405-how-will-cookie-crumble-last-minute-ea-freakout-2.html

Same here srrinath. This is such BS.

guys i got my acceptance at 1:43 ish (california), i know because i was bout to leave class…i had tried numerous times, unsuccesfully to log into the account but then all of a sudden the page loaded…nothing was different…i hit refresh one last time and then there was the yellow box…i still havnt recieved an emaill

my point is that i think the server overload has just caused lots of confusion…probably all the decisions were up, designated to be released at a certain time, but the overload is messing everything up. There is no correlation to acceptance, etc, and i think if your patient enough and keep refreshing you’ll know soon!

Motion - What’s such BS?

Getting deferred. Also, it definitely seems like there was a correlation between wait and deferral, so, again, we got lied to. Oh how they surprises keep coming.
