I wonder if the CHHS scandal continues to affect things. One of the admissions folks from UNC will be holding a meeting for parents of seniors only at CHHS Monday night from 7-8:30 to discuss "admissions and recent CHHS events". I don't know how to interpret this. Would they wait to release admissions info until after the local problem has some clarity/resolution?

hornet, that was on my mind. seems as though they would not release decisions until after they had discussed this if they were planning on reevaluating the kids there?

hey guys, just called and admissions claims that decisions are not posted this afternoon but we will see!

I think that the tragedy that has struck the campus may delay things a bit. I know for a fact that the announcement of Morehead winners scheduled for yesterday was postponed and I am sure not entirely on the fact that the Foundation staff was busy attempting to provide assistance and nurturing to the current Moreheads who had lost one of their family.

I think that the University as a whole is reeling right now and trying to come to grips with this horrible event. I realize that everyone on this thread's main concern is hearing about their respective status but understand that the University community as a whole has been very distracted as a result of the events of Wednesday and Thursday and that the timing of the announcement of your decisions may be impacted by them.

o....thanx for calling them 2007mom. I checked my page but no updates....
maybe next week..ive waited like 2 months...some more.

Is NC State really as good at engineering as they claim....i might go there....this year im taking AP Physics and Im doing exceptionally good. I am rethinking my goals....still in that process.

Are you sure notification of Morehead winners was postponed? Because I know someone at school who received it two days ago...

The finalists heard but they are not submitting the list to the press until a later date.

No update!!!

Vickpick..Yes NC State has a great reputation for engineering and growing. They helped in the development of several tech companies. Red Hat has their WWHQ basically on the campus.

NC State has one of the better engineering schools in the country. I don't know what their ranking is currently but for many years the graduate program and undergraduate were in the top 25 in the country. Engineering and math students are topnotch there and if you look at their stats alone as a group, you would be proud to be among them as you would any excellent math/science group. Of course I am biased. My husband has a BSEE from State. He had many job opportunities all over the country when he finished. The new Centential campus is state of the art and has received lots of huge endowments/grants.

thanks for the reply hornet. I think its too late for me to apply there, but if I tranfer from UNCC to other college next year, I will definitely think about NC state.

vickpick...NC State has a rolling admissions program, so it may not be too late. Check out their website ncsu.edu to find out more.

atg4ever, reg deadline has passed, but what is a rolling deadline.
Their website doesn't have much comprehensive info about the deadline.

NCSU doesn't have a rolling admissions policy, at least not in the traditional sense. They do now have 4 separate application/notification dates, though, for first-time freshmen for the fall (not for spring admits or transfers):

Deadline 1: October 15 (Notification: Dec 15)
Deadline 2 and EA Deadline: November 1 (Notification: January 30)
Deadline 3 and College of Design deadline: December 1 (Notification: March 15)
Final Deadline Review: February 1 (Notification March 30)
Undergraduate Admissions

Sorry-- I just re-read your post and see that you would be a transfer, if applying after next year. Transfers to NCSU do have a rolling system (ie, you're notified as soon as file is received, reviewed).

I believe as a transfer, you may have until April 1 to apply for Fall admission:

Transfer Students (Domestic)

Decisions are posted as files are completed and applications are reviewed. Apply by April 1 for fall admission.

Check out this page: Undergraduate Admissions

I applied to State as a transfer in mid-November and received my acceptance in late February. A lot of other transfers I know received their decisions in February as well so I think they have been doing them on a rolling-admit basis.

If you guys don't mind, could you start your own thread on NC state----I keep thinking there is some news on when UNC is coming out each time I see there is a new post and as we all know we are stressed out enough over that---thanks

citymiddle: Yes, I do think transfers are on a rolling basis, but not regular fall freshman applications.

jimmyduck: Sorry. :(

when i said transfer i meant that I can't apply for freshmen admissions anymore...so ill apply there are after completing one year in UNCC or UNC CH..
