I have to say the posting of the stats is just a horse of a different color. I know that they like published authors, kids who win state(especially in Tejas), national, and/or international awards in something. In addition to varsity letters they like Academic Decathlon (great source of scholarships) Future Problem Solvers, and Odyssey of the Mind and/or Destination Imagination. Mostly what I see are incredible numbers. So many brilliant minds. Find your place, bloom where you are planted, and best of luck!

I'm not. I applied to a very specific, prestigious program at Rice. They only have about 20 spots, and thousands apply for it. The decision is not that hard to believe when you take that into consideration heh.

dmVP29 - what is this vey prestigious programme?

if it was Rice/Baylor, then yes its very selective, and the only reason i would see you not getting into that was if you checked that you would only go to rice if you got into that program

yeah it was the rice/baylor program indeed. and yes i checked that box stating I only wanted to go to Rice if i got into that program.

yeah, i didnt check that box... and didnt get an interview (but i had to fill out the application). i probably wont attend anyhoo.
