I didn’t get accepted but I want to appeal can y’all help me?? UW is my Dream school
What is the basis for your appeal other than “I really want to go to your school.”
My GPA went down junior cause of the hardship I faced after my grandmother passed away and all of the put downs by teacher for thinking I wouldn’t flourish in IB classes in the beginning of junior year

They will consider your improved grades, but love your backup school, too.
I don’t think it would be a good idea to mention this…
I know I have improved Senior Year! Even though I failed my Engl 101 class:(((
Okay I won’t!!
What are your stats? In state or OOS? Major? Some students are a toss-up, others are too far… Without knowing your stats, I would say to explain any circumstances but be ready to attend another college, get 4.0 then transfer.
BTW- you already had a chance to explain your circumstances in your application.
In State. Undecided major
Not to mention Winter quarter I have a 3.5 GPA
In another post you said you have a 2.7 GPA. You can’t wish your way into a college if you don’t have the academic stats. Nobody here can stop you from appealing, but I can’t imagine it will change the decision. I’d recommend you focus on schools you have been accepted into.
Imma appeal either way! I believe my high school GPA will go up after this quarter because I have a GPA of 3.5 for this quarter as a running start Student
3.5 is not even at the 50th percentile. You have no chance. Sorry
Good luck on the appeal… worth repeating: “be ready to attend another school, get 4.0” there in your first year, then apply to transfer. The high GPA will clear any doubt you can handle college courses and that your priority is your education.
“In another post you said you have a 2.7 GPA.”
I see on collegedata that the average GPA for admitted students at UW is 3.78 on a 4.0 scale. Having a 3.5 for one quarter is not going to impress them. A full year of straight A’s might be a good start.
You need to have a dream which fits the reality of your academic record. University is going to be significantly more difficult than high school. You really shouldn’t want to go to a university where you are close to the bottom of the incoming students in terms of GPA.
How about Bothell? Or if you want a residential campus, WWU? Did you apply to those?
Failing a senior year class is not going to give you much on a second look. Is there another school that accepted you? Or maybe stay at your Running Start school and try to transfer after finishing an associates. Hopefully with a much better GPA.
Looking at your GPA, you are far below what UW Seattle accepts (almost a point lower). You are also significantly below what is more commonly accepted at WSU and WWU.
Instead of worrying about a UW appeal, you should talk w/your college counselor about what makes sense for you.
Keep in mind your appealing against people who have 3.7-3.8 GPAS and still got denied. You should continue CC and get straight A’s from there.
