I know there was another thread concerning deferral in some manner, but it wasn't in the first 6 pages so I figured I could start a new one. (Sorry if it was there and I just missed it)

I was deferred (CAS) and was wondering if anyone has any insight at all as to how the process works at Penn and how to approach things from here out.

I know the deferral process is pretty variable in general for different schools, so does anyone know what Penn expects/wants/doesn't want? (ie- an extra rec if it's helpful, a recap of any world saving (or whatever) you've done since being deferred, just a nice email telling them you still exist and still want to go to Penn, etc)
As far as the process itself, does anyone know what actually happens with deferred candidates? Are our applications read again at all?

Also, it would be cool to get input from anyone who's been through the deferral process (or knows someone who has) just to get an idea.

In short, what the heck is up with deferral, and what do I do about it?

Thanks so much!
