deferral update letter

i'm starting to write it now, and i was wondering if there's any point mentioning that i qualified as a candidate for the presidential scholars program. i understand that it's an honor, but if it's purely based on standardized test scores i don't exactly see how it would tell them something they don't already know.

EDIT: it may also be helpful to know that i understand that i have probably literally no chance of advancing to semifinalist...

Well, anything helps for your chances
It’s not like colleges will stalk you and discredit you if you don’t reach semifinalist
good luck!

Hey I was doing the same thing! I’m planning to include all new honors/awards I have received since the time I submitted my application.

Is there a page on the admissions website with individual officers’ contacts, or should the letter be addressed to the admissions office in general?

i wouldn’t hold me to this, but i believe you send an e-mail to your regional representative, whose name and e-mail i know you can find somewhere on the website. i need to figure this out myself though. i think you might actually also send a letter directly to the admission office?adgeek would know.

Thanks! And since I included smaller honors like school honor societies and upward movement in class rank, I think you should definitely include the presidential scholarship candidacy.

lol i had no major awards…

I was just very emotional in the letter
