Do you think I should call and ask if I can do anything to further enhance my ability to get in? Like tell them I'm still very interested, maybe even write them a letter? Ask if they got my first-semester senior grades and if there's anything else I can do.

I'm a transfer student to University of Michigan, for Fall 2007, and here's my take on this...

Calling many times, will probably not help out too much, if at all. I think I've called enough for some of the people answering the phones to know my name and UMID already. In a school as big as University of Michigan, and them getting so many applicants, I think it'd annoy them more than it'd show incentive.

I'm not too sure how exactly the adcoms are dividing the work between freshmen and transfer, but from what I could tell of emails between the adcom email that I had gotten, they were pretty busy.

Basically, the best you could probably do is, call in, ask if they've gotten your first semester grades, maybe submit anything else that might enhance your application and just... wait. It's hard, and I know this probably as well as you, but it's all you really can do right now. UMich is my first choice too, and not going there and staying at my current institution is just... cry
