deferred from where???

Hello!
I got deferred!
but I'm pretty okay cause I already cried a lot in the morning, expecting this...
I applied to the Huntsman Program, and chose CAS as my second single choice bound as ED.
As I logged onto the website, it just said that I got deferred, but not where I got deferred from.
Am I deferred from the Huntsman? or CAS?

Congratulations to all who are admitted.
and good luck to everybody who's not because we are gonna rock in RD!

I have the same issue. I applied to M&T ED and chose RD for Wharton. It said I was deferred, but I don’t know whether I got deferred from M&T or rejected from M&T and deferred to Wharton.

Anyone?

should we call or something?
i really wanna know…

yeah. Anyone know? I don’t wanna wait till monday to call them

even though it’s the same defer, i would feel so much better if i was deferred from the dual degree program cause it so much harder…
actually i would appreciate that they did not reject me hahah…

yeah, I would really like to have another chance at the dual degree program. I kinda regret not doing ED to wharton too b/c I really think I could’ve gotten in. One of my friends just got in today, idk dual degree or SEAS tho. Kinda jealous. haha. I just wanna be done.

So we still don’t know if we were deferred for our single-degree option or dual degree?

If I’m not mistaken, when you applied to the dual degree program it asked if you wanted to be considered for a single program if you werent admitted into the dual degree program.

I think this means if you don’t get into dual degree ED, you’re then considered for single degree ED. If you don’t get into that then you’re completely rejected or considered for dual degree RD and/or single degree RD. I think if you got deferred ED, it means you were deferred from dual degree AND single degree ED. I think this is correct, but don’t quote me on it.

hmmmm
is there a case that you get deferred from the dual degree program and accepted from CAS?
cause it sounds weired…
you are bound to go to CAS but the dual degree is still considering you???

To js2393. They also gave the option of having your single-degree option be part of the RD cycle, instead of ED. I picked RD for Wharton. Does my deferral letter relate strictly to M&T? meaning I was deferred from the dual degree? or does the deferral mean that I was rejected from M&T and am now gonna be evaluated for Wharton RD?

Also, when they do evaluate my app RD, do the officers know that I was deferred from ED? Or would I just be another RD applicant to them? I would think that them knowing I was deferred would be good since they would then know that Penn is my first choice.

Any tips for this deferree? I know that M&T is just insane and I feel fortunate just to have been deferred (if that is the case), but I kind of regret not doing ED to Wharton too :frowning: sooo stupid.

I called them because I had the same issue. The woman on the phone was very courteous and understanding. She said if you only saw a deferral letter that you had been deferred from BOTH programs.

@petree
they do know that we are deferrees. also in the defer letter, they mentioned that they are gonna take account that we applied to penn as ED which means the first choice.

@rocketrick
really??? did you call them today? hmm so that means i m deferred from both…

actually, i would feel quite okay if i was deferred from the dual degree program, i mean i would appreciate that they did not reject me, cause i never thought that i had that much of a chance… but i still think that i wanna call and hear them saying about my app…

i called them today
and the person was super nice!
she told me that she cant actually look up…
she asked my contact info and told me that my regional director will contact me with answer~
