Deferred-Need Help!

I was deferred for Early Action, but I', not 100% discouraged yet. I was wondering should I call the admissions office to see what was wrong with my application that it was deferred or would they not like that? Also, I was considering an internship, would this look negative in the idea that I'm getting it solely to increase my chances. If not, I'm stuck between three options and would like your take (my app is economics focused with some politics) .

Which would be better: county department of economic development, county legislature (but sick letter of rec because I've helped her before with stuff not put on my app) or working for a house of representatives (letter of rec not guaranteed)?

^ bump

Advice would really be appreciated. Or any ideas how to change the deferred into an acceptance

Don’t do anything “just to get accepted.” Write a letter now listing reasons they should accept you - specific things you will bring to campus life that may not have been reflected in your essays. Submit any additional achievements, honors, awards you receive between now and regular decision date. Worked for me to get me off WL.
