Wait... dulce de leche are you a guy or a girl

Penn accepted 2 legacies from my school who are both doing college math (they already completed BC calc a couple of years ago!). The third one is an athlete. I heard they accepted someone from another school in my area who got arrested for drunk driving a few weeks before the ED deadline. I can't compete with them. I have no arrest record, and I'm doing AP Calculus now.
My stats are also higher than many people on this board who claimed they got accepted to Penn. If I were at their schools, I would have waltzed into Penn
I have been offered major money by Umich. They don't give merit money so easily to OOS students. So, that shows I'm way up there in terms of credentials. I also got a likely letter from UNC Chapel Hill. It's more difficult to get into UNC from OOS (which I am) than it is to get into Penn ED. Penn accepts 35% of the ED pool. UNC only accepts about 20% of OOS kids.
Penn Adcoms have lost touch with reality.

Besides, I was DEFERRED...not rejected!

so basically you weren't good enough. *****.

many people with awesome stats get rejected, and many with less-than-stellar stats get accepted. suck it up. that's life. so you got in umich w/ an awesome financial package, good for you. now **** off.

seriously, you'd better get rejected. penn doesn't want people like you.

You guys better hope you aren't in the same classes as the kids who were accepted from my school (and kids like that from other schools)...or you might flunk!

Im scared Dulce
GET A LIFE!!!!!!!!

ditto pennhunter.

"is it really neccessary to be so bitter now, this thread is for hopeful deferrees + it's the holidays. oh wells, happy holidays guys :] let's enjoy atleast one day where we don't have worry over college apps and etc"

totally agree with x

i know i havent posted here and you guys have already starting forming online bonds with each other:) but im a fellow deferee as well.

christmas break full of more apps. gah
and im going to have to agree with the numerous posts about 'random acceptance' this year. what was penn thinking....im sure everyone on here has stellar stats.

lets face it, we all want penn bad and we are going to do whatever it takes to be that 12% in april.

aside from all the umich talk, lets make sure this stays a penn deferee zone. more like a support group i suppose.

godspeed to all.

lets face it, we all want penn bad and we are going to do whatever it takes to be that 12% in april. >

Speak for yourself. I'm not doing that.

Than withdrawal your application

definately.

dulce, your user name made me think you were..well, dulce. \/\/ T F, mate?

Dulce, you have stuff from big state schools that are desperate for URMs. UNC and Mich are not as selective as Penn. Also, Penn may have deferred you to get some cash out of your mom before rejecting you (unless ofcourse you give them a lot of cash, then you are probably in).

dulce, just because you're hispanic doesn't mean you get a free ticket into penn, it's rather ignorant of you to think that's the case.

How much did everyone donate to get accepted to PEnn?

they probably whined more than u dulce...thats what got them in

...

are you serious about that question? why do you think you have to donate to get accepted? I'M SOOO CONFUSED!!

My dad donated less than $500, all of it coming after my junior year started (almost 20 years after he graduated) so I know that his money did not get me in. He donated mostly to try and help me get in by keeping his name in their files. My dad's old classmate is rich as **** and could easily donate millions. His daughter was deferred. I think that if dulce donated a few million, she should get into SEAS with ease.

I dont know why I cant see dulce's last post. But here's my response...

In the beginning I tried to understand you and at some point pity you. But now youve gone really far. You are just taking places that we, deferreed people, can use. If you are gonna turn them down anyway, why dont you do it right now?

If they finally accept you and you decide to attend... uhm youre dead.

To me, dulce, it's obvious. You were obviously too good for Penn, and the adcoms, aware of this and your tremendous scholarship, simply KNEW that you were above and beyond Penn's capacities. So, please, let us dumb, spoiled, drunken drivers have our peace.

Go Quakers!

you know dulce, you can easily end this right now and just stop posting on this thread. this animosity is really not appreciated...by anyone. im sure we'd all be alot happier if you stopped posting "i hate penn" remarks on a thread full of people who obviously love penn very very much, even after deferral.
