I'm so over dulce's bitterness, so I have a better idea for everybody. Why dont we just completely ignore her posts and actually have the deferred people talk about what they need to get into penn. I mean it's pointless for us to try to reason with an idiot anyways. The only reason she keeps posting is cause she probably likes being the center of controversy. So I say: fu ck her and let her live her own miserable life and let us be concerned about our own issues, not some immature brat's issues

here, here!

how many of you applied to a dual program

hmm not me. anyone know if its possible for deferred kids to still get an interview....if we didnt for the ED round?

yep it is. my sisters good friend goes to penn and works in the admission office i called her the other day and asked her that. she said helps a ton to fly up and meet your adcon if you havent seen her yet

A bulb just lit up! I never bothered to meet my adcom from my area!!!
That's probably why I got deferred!
NOw I get it!

that could be a big deal if your a legacy dulce but i wouldn’t bother now since you hate Penn

did you go for a legacy interview

is it easier to get in georgetown than penn

from what ive heard
georgetown is easier than penn.

and as for meeting the adcom
i met my director back in july, and pretty much called her for any help i needed....dont know if it really helped...

has anyone written their "im-still-interested-in-penn-even-though-they-deferred me" letter yet?

I wrote mine the day after I was deferred for closure
It is still rough though because I haven’t had my English teacher look at it yet
"I'm Dyslexic and my grammar sucks" but anyway I need to get that in ASAP because nursing decision come out in mid feb.

I was actually thinking about flying all the way there to meet my RD... but I mean would it be worth the price flying all the way from Mexico? Should I make an appointment first or how would that work?

My dad already told me that if it really really helps, then I can go.

You need to make an appointment my sisters friend works at the international desk in fact ( i think for south korea) but i would call and ask after break if you can make an appointment or just schedule a phone interview

Can you seriously do that? Request an appointment with your regional director?? Because if you could... wouldn't everybody? How would the RDs find time?

douche le dulce: plz no more kthx

I did with beth downing. I saw her at the school and I talked to her on the phone like 4 times

okay so...do you send the letter to your RD? by mail? and when would it be considered "too late" to send the letter?

also..should i send another rec from my AP lit teacher who knows me a little better by this time? i know it'd be a great rec...but i sent 3 the first time (with a supp. rec). would that be too many?

joanna 180, as far as when would be "too late", I had interviewed with the alumni council and i got a sort of generic letter for deferred students who interviewed with them, and it "recommends" if you are still interested to write a letter in late January...
if that helps at all.

This deferred thing is no fun :(

Joanna I would not send it unless you were deferred.
you could call or email

I havent sent mine in yet (I was deferred from wharton), would mailing it on January 1st be too late?
