Hey guys…I am trying to write my deferral letter to Wharton which I was deffered from in early December. However, I don’t know what to say to the adcoms. You are still my first choice? Showcase more of my talents? I LOVE Wharton?
Can anyone help me out with this deferral letter. I’d appreciate it if anyone has an old sample they can share with me. Please PM it to me. Thanks a ton guys. I really appreciate it.

Yes to you are still my first choice. Otherwise, about all that will register is information (new?) that was not included, or fleshed out in your initial application.

talk about any professional goals you want to pursue, and how you are going to make an impact on campus...mention clubs or organizations specific to the university and how you will impact them with your abilities/knowledge

This is not a rejection it is an opportunity to reintroduce yourself to them. You might want to include additional rec letters or to mention any awards or activities of note that you accomplished since your original application. I would suggest you write an excellent letter explaining that their school is still your first choice. Use the letter as another shot at an excellent essay. Of all deferrals, a good portion just drop out of the race, some pursue it haphazardly while others try to understand what they could do to promote themselves more effectively. This is your window for getting into this school. Take a deep breath and decide if you want it bad enough. Warning, if you change your mind a year or even a month from now it will be too late so...take the time and use this opportunity that some of the RD students will never get.
