Is there any official stats on how many ED people were deferred from princeton this year? Everyone around me was deferred and I'm beginning to wonder if pton deferred everyone like harvard did. (harvard deferred about 70% of its early applicants).

Also, my friend told me that Princeton accepts 15% of deferred applicants and 8% of regular applicants. Is this true?

God! That will be good mehn. I was deferred with CR-630, Maths-670, Writing- 700, but I retook and I now have CR-680, Maths-700, Writing-710. I dont think this will make much changes but I'm also an athlete. I'm also int'l, so what d'u reckon?
That I might get in??

you know, i don't think SATs make too much of a difference. Personally, i think my grades weren't as good as they shouldve been. Neither were my essays, but I'm hoping I'll do well on my A levels - could be a factor? We're suposed to send them the results, come out in march..

hey i got deferred at princeton with a pathetic essay. I actually took weeks to prepare one essay and the day before the deadline, i decide it to show it to other guys and all of them said it sucked!! so i wrte another one in an hour and sent it! :-(
I also had bad SAT scores...but they still deferred me...hey but i had good SAT II scores and good gpa.

I know another guy who was sure that he would get into harvard because of his exceptional essay. he got deferred too...prolly becoz of his sat scores. he was instead more happy. he took it positively and said that if a university like harvard didnt reject (but deferred) a guy with such a bad SAT score, that means my essay truly is sensational.
well now he has good sat scores and if he gets accepted in April, one thing will be for sure: Harvard only wants good essays!!!

I was just wondering what kind of stuff I could send in and how much time they get to read it? I mean, the RD people don't get to send in extra stuff while us ED deferred people get to do it. Can it be something like a very short portfolio with a picture or two?

send in whatever you like, but keep it short and sweet, something powerful means a lot more than a whole folder of new stuff.

several of my friends at princeton were deferred before getting admitted...each of them sent in a follow-up letter, but didn't really dwell on it too much. essentially, don't agonize on it, it's largely out of your hands at this point, but you aren't out yet.
