Percentage of applicants deferred

I was wondering if anyone knew what percentage of ED applicants were deferred...

For schools like Harvard, which defer 73%, its probably highly unlikely for a deferree to get accepted RD, but at Dartmouth, they only defer approximately 1/3 of its ED applicants.

well they accepted ~26%, and they rejected ~100 which is like... maybe 4%? (lol sorry i don't feel like trying to find the article again), so they probably deferred around 70%

ahhh great so us deferees have basically NO chance....i guess id better start liking some other schools....

I've had to do that too. I've got one or two so far, but Princeton is still my top choice.

but it's still just like applying RD except BETTER because the admittance rate for deferees is higher than for the average RDer!

^^ true true....so the dream isnt TOTALLY gone...just diminished a little (well, a lot)....ive started to like dartmouth, lol....because is SO MUCH easier to get into and all (i hope you can sense the bitter sarcasm, its definately there...)

same here!
I mean, Princeton, would be ALWAYZ my forever dream school, but after my deferral, I forced myself to look around other colleges.
Esp, I am leaning towards those small liberal art colleges (Amherst, William) where it is def. easier to get in and,,, seems less intimidating and realistic wish? :D

Yeah I really like Johns Hopkins a lot (even though Pton is my number 1!)

I haven't even applied to Princeton yet but eeeeeks.
It's my number one.
And then my next 10 schools are really kind of equally weighted. So hopefully I can just get into Princeton and not have to make a really difficult decision in April.

I've actually cut my list down...a lot.
Before I had about 10 schools too haha
If not Wellesley then Rice. If not Rice then UT.
I was planning on applying to Amherst, but I haven't started their essay yet, and it doesn't look like I will in the next two days.

ohh miss zanna, I waited until the last day to submit my Amherst application because the essays were driving me mad. I am now a very happy freshman there. Don't let one essay keep you from applying to a school (unless you really aren't that interested ;))

I actually realize that I have about 4 days left, and that I can actually do an essay in that amount of time.
haha so maybe I will!

If I ever stop and take a break from picking at this Wellesley essay, of course ;]

haha I hate all those supplementary essayss!!
They are VERY interesting prompts, but too much to do in a few days.
This is what I get from relying too much on Princeton ED + procrastinatioin to the max !

haha yeah Princeton ED killed me.
After November 1, I was thinking, "Okay I deserve a nice, long break before I get started on RD apps."
But then by the time I tried to start, it was almost December 15, and I was like, "Might as well wait a little longer."
And so here I am right now. haha

^^same here!

I've got one more essay to do for Cornell, and then I'm done with my blasted college applications!!!

I'm sooo glad I decided to finish all my apps before December.

Yeah, now that I've been deferred, I'm really trying to shift my attention away from Princeton...I'm looking forward to decisions from Yale, Stanford, Dartmouth, and Columbia now (which are all difficult to get into!)

ahh . i envy those of you who are DONE for all!

still..5 more supps to go...

BTW, how come I can't either edit or delete previous posts I made earlier?
It seems like I can only edit those I just posted right now

Yeah, that's just how it works....and it can get kind of annoying.
