I got deferred from UGA EA. I have a 1460 with a 3.8 and some other stuff... I go to a good private school in Atlanta...think I'll get in regular?

Yea very good chance

With those numbers, there's no reason you should have been deferred in the 1st place. Is there something on your record (A failed class? an honor-code violation? a lo-caliber curriculum?) that might have scared them away? Is that 3.8 weighted (UGA only weighs APs)? If not, you should be a shoe-in.

maybe alot of people in your school got in?

maybe its a 1460 combined.

alot of my friends got deffered too. i think its bcuz this year that had a record number of ea applications.

i failed a class 10th grade year, only thing i've failed - redid it in summer school and got a 98. That's my unweighted gpa + what uga gives to students from my school.

1460 ( 740 math 720 verbal)

Yup that failed class probably got you your deferrel. But in my opinion, UGA would be nuts to pass you by a second time. Your current stats are great, and I think it shows real character to get an "F" in 10th grade--then pull yourself back together so nicely. Hopefully, UGA is smart enough not to just want a bunch of grade-machines. I wish you luck--and I'll keep my fingers crossed.

you must have had everything else basically an A if you have a 3.8. Explain your failing grade in your essay or even attach a personal statement and you should be fine.

...when the combined SAT is 1460 and GPA is 3.8? I just don't see an F in 10th grade meaning deferral. I think fuzzyduck is right...must be something else to this. Isn't the counselor evaluation also required for EA? Any personality conflicts there can surely create problems. We're not talking about a scholarship application...just admission...and to a state school, no less.
