I ended up only taking 3.5 units of math for certain reasons. According to them, I need another half unit that builds upon algebra II. I was going to take it at the local university, but ended up finding out that it would cost approx. $1100 to take pre-calc or w/e. If I come in with a math deficiency, can I take college algebra or pre-calc and get both the high school unit needed and college credit?

I can't believe that you would be the first student to ever come in with a deficiency.

Try calling the advising center for CBA, (since I think you said you were Econ), and asking them. You might be able to cover it by placing into Math 106 (calc I) or I guess Math 104 (Business Calc which is easier) when you take your math placement test at NSE. Don't quote me on that though. http://admissions.unl.edu/def/index.asp has some info, and from reading it looks like you might have to go the Community college route. It does say that CBA won't count any course taken to remove a deficiency towards degree requirements - so you'll have to take Math 104 regardless.
