Hello everybody and thanks for checking out my post. I'm a CC student applying for an AA degree. The AA/AS Application Form at my school has a section regarding previous colleges and universities attended. It states that all transcripts must be on file with my current school.

A few years back I attended another local community college. I did poorly and it would be my preference not to list that other school.

I did not transfer over any credits from that other school when I began attending my current college. My question would be if I am either legally or morally obligated to disclose that information. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Seems pretty straightforward. It doesn’t matter if you transferred credits or not, they are asking for transcripts for any colleges you attended. Colleges search for a student’s attendance history here:

To anyone else who may be in a similar situation, check with a counselor at your campus for a definitive answer. I was informed that since I did not transfer over any credits that listing previous colleges and submitting transcripts was not required. Just to note so there is no confusion. Listing a previous college on my AA degree application was not required since I didn’t transfer any credits; however, when transferring schools one is always obligated to disclose that information because it is relevant to the admission process. Good luck folks and I hope I helped anyone who read this.
