Delaware acceptance

Same deal as beachguru. They still have not updated my status but I was accepted!!

OOS.
3.5 unweighted.
1970 SAT. (didn't take ACT or Subject Tests)
2 Honors.
7 APs.
Upward trend in grades.
Pretty good essay.
Lots of extracurriculars.

I'm still debating between Rutgers or Delaware though.

To all those who are going to be reading this as they look ahead to next year, stats aren't everything.

My son goes to a private school that is academically rigorous, to say the least. He faltered sophomore year, but did well on tests, 2010 on SAT, 30 on ACT, but with below 3.0 GPA. Great recommendations, community service award, and four years of varsity football. Still quite surprised he is "in", not sure yet if he is attending.

So...just keep working, do what makes you happy, and it will all work out.

jwb: thanks for posting from another rigorous private school parent who, honestly, is really burnt out by CC stats.....good to know.....

I'm pretty surprised I was accepted

My guess is to not worry. Delaware is my biggest safety school and I also have this message…
I have a 1330/1600, and my gpa is almost 3.7 even though it has improved each year [i fooled around too much in 9th grade but last year, my junior year, i average 4.1] and I have taken 3 AP’s.
Also my Mom is a UD alumni… and I have tons of EC’s includng sports, volunteering, etc.
So with everything in my favor, I think that I ama shoe in for UD and I think the rest of us should not worry! Good luck to all!

does anyone have any info on the cannot authorize message? i’m in nj, i applied at the end of october.

If you are getting a cannot authorize message by checking admission status thru admitted students website, dont worry.
to all those who are still waiting for letters, i just spoke to the udel admissions office and asked them about this site. they confirmed that students are not actually entered into the site until the admittance package has left their office.

so if you are waiting to hear and cannot get into the site, you should not consider that a rejection.

the rest of the admission letters are expected to be mailed within the next two weeks.

good luck to all who are still waiting!

I thought I had a shot with a 2.98 and M670 CR530, but after reading this I makes me worry.

what are my chances of getting in with a 3.4 avg, 1180 on my SATS and 3 AP classes

I think you will get in.

does anyone know when the actual letters are going to arrive?
i live in nj

could be any time from 3/16 - 3/27, I hope.

Okay so I have been trying that link for a few days now and I keep getting the Cannot authorize at this time message. I don’t think it’s an automatic rejection though. I have 4.5679 weighted and 4.0 unweighted GPA, 27 ACT, many extracurriulars…I don’t mean to sound cocky but i it was a rejection it would say rejected… Also, a question, for those who have seen their status did you use your ID number or your originial log in? How do I make a password with the ID number?

is there anyone who ISNT getting the “cannot authorize at this time” message when checking? according to a few posters here on cc , that site wont update for you until your package gets sent out.

I’m an OOS senior with a 3.9 GPA and combinded SATs of 1840 (540m, 670c, 630w). I also took the ACTs and scored a 28. I took one AP last year and am taking 3 this year. I’m also a member/officer of numerous clubs.
