I am a junior and have yet to take the SAT. Considering I have Ap tests and finals in may, would it be wise to take it in June and then retake (if necessary) in september?
I really need some advice on this.

I'd take it as soon as possible; there's no point in waiting.

Absolutely take it in June. Then you can see how you do and retake in Oct if needed. Plus take the time in the summer to try some of the prep books. Good luck.

do yo think this would really affect my college apps?

btw, there's no testing in september.

take it in June for sure.

Depends on where you are planning to apply, their application deadlines and the SAT score you need. If you wait till October (no SAT in Sept) you are kind of putting all your eggs in one basket and assuming you will score high enough the 1st time round. Which you might. Or you might not.

Also some schools have earlier deadlines than others so Oct is cutting it close as you cannot see your scores on the web till early November and they are not mailed till mid November (or later if a mess-ups happens - there have been 1 or 2 in the past).

My personal recommendation take it in June then see if you feel you need to retake it.

Definitely take it in June. There is no September test date, as another poster mentioned, so the test dates skip from June until October. You definitely don't want to be in a situation where you encounter difficulty in a section and run out of time to bring your score up. Also, many schools take the best score from any date for each section (superscoring), so you will have two chances to get your highest score.
