I'm the undergraduate student at Michigan State University. I will have 61 credits after this fall semester including AP transfer credits. My GPA is 3.86 (I didn't take some easy courses. I took the courses that are all required for this major to graduate.)... I applied to transfer to Purdue in the next semester and now I'm rejected by them... I just want to know what kind of transfer student they will accept?

What is wrong with finishing your EE degree at Michigan State?

@ucbalumnus Actually, I would probably finish EE degree in 3 or 3.5 years in Michigan State. But I didn’t do well in my first semester so I didn’t get into the honor college. I really want to have another challenging circumstance to study.

There are LOTS of ways to challenge yourself outside the honor college! There are generally very few opportunities offered through such programs that are not available to the general student body - the honors college just organizes and mandates them for you. Indeed, in the long run it is probably better to NOT be a member of the college! You can plan your own course of challenges that will be more focused on your specific needs and abilities, and a year after you graduate no one is going to care that you were a member anyway.

Transferring will hurt you more than help you. Instead, think about what challenges you want and go pursue them. Join a research lab, or a professional society, or an academic club. Take some honors courses in areas you like, or sign up for independent study with an interesting professor - with your GPA, you should be able to get just about any academic opportunity you want! Look at the honors program and see what parts of it you really like, and go do them - as I said before, they are probably still available to people outside the program!
