oh well, those SAT's bit me in the butt. Good luck to the rest of you. I'm also OOS so it was definitely a long shot.

what are your stats?

what are your stats and did you just find out? online? by mail?

Sorry to hear hayze. What was ur GPA? an how did you find out?

aw i'm sorry hayze. but i'm sure you'll do great wherever you end up
i creeped a little haha and looked at some other posts of yours to find your stats. it seems they were a 3.6 and a 1060/1610?
that's shocking that you didn't at least make summer. and i can't say if you being out of state made a difference. was there anything that maybe would have been a reg flag for admissions? or did you apply fall and then checked off summer

I was also rejected today. I had very similar stats, 3.6 ranked 16 of 129 and had a 1080/1600 on the SAT. Not only did I have those stats but I had a plethora of leadership positions as well. Guess the applicant pool was really good. Must say I'm utterely disappointed and a little shocked.

I have a 3.4 uw 3.6 w. My SAT is 1610/2400 1040/1600. Oh and just to add insult to injury, the denial came in a BIG envelope! That sucked.
No red flag that I know of...peer leader, captain of varsity cheerleading 2 years, community service, honors classes, only 1 AP and 1 dual enrollment class. They did say if I wanted to apply to another campus I could do so....um, no thanks :-//

I can't agree with you more Hayze, upon receiving the big envelope I thought I had gotten accepted. The fact that they mail you that big thing, with a chance for another campus is a slap in the face. The so called decision is supposedly 66 percent based on the GPA and I think that's a load of bs. I think we were both robbed; the only thing to blame is the faltering economy and Penn State's low price tag. Where else did you apply?

Wait did you guys put a second choice for a campus?

Penn State's cost to attend is not that low, its actually one of the more expensive state schools out there.

I didn't choose a second choice campus, since I'm out of state and would rather attend one of my own state school's then go to a branch campus. Well in my opinion 17,000 is a great bargain for a school that is ranked 48 by the U.S. News World Report.

I did not put down a second choice of campus. I understand that Penn State is not a cheap ride for in state students , but isn't it cheaper than going oos.

did either of you have any alumni in your family? and what about honor classes an ap's?

no alumni, honors classes all 4 years, 1 AP 1 dual enrollment.

Im so nervous. My stats are 3.79 GPA 1680 SATS (1150 out of 1600) Lots of Honors 3 Aps and Dad and sister went there (sister currently). I put fall down and put altoona for my second choice

good luck Pitt!! No news is still good news! FYI, my status did not change on mypsu

did either of you apply for summer? if you guys didnt even get into that there is no way i will because both of you were pretty good. i only have a 3.5 but i have a combined score of a 1760 and 1140 out of 1600.

but still. if you guys didnt get in summer there's no way i will
and hayze, what was your SAT out of 2400 because they look at the SAT out of 2400, not 1600. they look at writing now

Thanks Hayze lets hope so. With your scores so close to mine Im scared to find out. When did apply>?

denied for summer too. SAT 1610/2400

We read a story in the paper recently that said PSU is the most expensive public school in the country, in light of their recent tuition increases.

I believe the tuition for OOS is actually around 24K, plus another 8K or so per year for room & board. That's not counting summer session, which costs another 5 or 6 grand.
