Penn State was so mean! (Rejection Thread)

Sent me a big thin envelope. I thought for sure "Oh man! Awesome! I must've been accepted! It's big!"

Not only did I not get in to University Park, but I didn't even get into my second choice Altoona!

So much for the fat envelope = good theory. Got my hopes up.

sorry to hear that nervousashell....i applied to altoona and abington and am waiting to hear back myself

That's cruel. I'm sorry you had to go through that.

how hard is it to get into the branch campuses exactly?

its not too difficult

what were ur stats?

id be a transfer with a 2.6 gpa and a 1280 SAT score from a few years ago

they sent you a big envelope?

thats just bastardly

Damn... does that mean a 3.0 transfer student (me) will face the same fate? Better prepare myself for the worst...

My stats were more than enough for Altoona, so I was particularly surprised. 3.3, 1270/1985 Sats. Maybe their slots filled up?

how late did you apply?

1985 on your SAT?

hmm............1985

Yeah.
I sent in my app Dec31 but they didn't get everything till Jan 18.

What Im confused about is my stats shouldve at least got me into Altoona even if UPark was a slight reach stats wise. Yet if everything is going to get filled up by Dec, what's the point of even accepting apps still for those places?

I got 1984 for my SAT. With such a wonderful score, I was accepted into the Inner Party.

Just to clear up for anyone else... the acceptance letters to PSU come in a big envelope and they actually say "Congratulations!" on the envelope... kinda takes a bit of the suspense out of it. I'm sorry you had to go through that though.

lol, prole. shouldn't you be busy thinking up a revolution or something?

how hard is it go get into Penn State as a undergraduate freshman?

how hard is it to get in if you get recruited for sports?
