<p>D received a phone message yesterday (while at commencement practice) informing her that she had won a substantial scholarship from the Department of Sports and Entertainment Management.</p>
<p>Since she has since played phone tag with the individual who called her we don't have all the details like; is it one time? renewable? the total total over 4 years? etc. Needless to say we are very proud and thrilled for her as well. </p>
<p>Her gut feel for the school when we first visited last summer has really paid off.</p>

S got two of those from the same department...is your D Sport Management or another major? First one was called an "Endowed" and is renewable for 4 years..I think it comes to $11,000 over the 4 year span.Second one was from Coca-Cola and its a one time deal from a grant the dept got from the company.S was told about that one when he attended the McNair weekend.Dept chairperson hopes it will be renewed next year. S got both his notices by mail.He had to turn down the Coca-Cola as it put him over the $$ limit for cost of ed (!! boy is he glad he filled out the forms for all this stuff).I'm so glad your D was called..congratulations!PM me if the names of the scholarships sound familiar and I'll give you the details that are in the letters!
