DePaul Defferal

I recently received a letter from DePaul University stating that they were going to review my application a second time for the regular admission pool of students. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm assuming that means I didn't make the cut for the first round of decisions.

Regardless, they are asking me for my senior year first semester grades, and to write replies to four essay questions that they've selected.

Gradewise, I'm on the lower side of the spectrum, I have a 3.3 unweighted GPA and a 21 ACT score. However, my EC's are strong, with several lead roles in the school musicals and plays, singing in two different choirs, having a part time job, being on newspaper, and having over 100 community service hours. Also, my father is an alumni of DePaul, and my ethnicity is half Hispanic. (If that plays a part.)

Unfortunately, while all of my scores stayed within the mid 80's this semester, I did fail my Advanced Math course.

I have several questions. One is that I originally selected Computer Science on my application as my major of interest, however I am no longer confident that this is the major that I want to pursue. Considering that I do not have the highest math scores, and considering that computer science is a major involving quite a few math courses, would it be wise to send DePaul an email or give them a call to let them know this new information? Would it even matter?

DePaul is my number one choice, what can I do to ensure I secure admission there?

I received the same letter, but still have not heard back yet. Have you received an admission decision yet?

If you are still waiting for a decision, all final admission decision letters are currently in the mail! If you do not hear from DePaul by the end of this week, give your counselor a call.

@csnyde10 If nothing has changed on my campus connect page, does that mean I was denied admission, or does that only change for students who were accepted for early admission?

I would like to know this as well.
