Hello, I am kind of stress out about this form that is due by May 1st. When they say the deadline is May 1st, do they mean I have to mail them before May 1st or they have to get the form by May 1st? I just got acceptance email like 2 days ago so it is obviously I could not mail it out that fast. Right?

Usually it has to be postmarked by, not received

Postmarked by.

I faxed mine today.

We can just fax it right?

Thanks! I’ll mail and postmark mine tomorrow. Oh when you fax, you have to be careful because my dad told me that the fax machines keep the data in its hard drive so everything it faxes will be recorded.

Err… Fax machines don’t have hard drives.

They do store the data, but it’s usually in RAM, which is overwritten as soon as you send another fax.

There are fax machines with a storage feature, but that’s something that’s toggled.

Is it the one they mailed us about couple days ago??
If I filed FAFSA and I send this verification form to them, then that’s it? then we get to know how much we can get for aid??
I was worried that my FAFSA didn’t go through when I got the mail two days ago…

And Do we print out verification form then complete it and mail it to them right??

@ucwannabee I haven’t got anything in mail yet. But if you want to know whether you have to file this form then go to MyApplication and click on “My Financial Aid Preliminary Award Notice” link. It will tell you whether you have to send in the file or not. Tomorrow is the last day to send it by mail and have it postmark. I don’t think Postal Service works on Saturday.

“By May 1st, provide the UCSD Financial Aid Office with:
Additional information if requested”

I haven’t received a request for additional information? Where did you guys see your request at? What do I do here?

Some of us were selected for “verification.”

We basically needed to verify that the information on the FAFSA was correct.

Failure to do so would have resulted in zero financial aid.

This is what I see so I have to turn in:

If you want to see what are they require you to turn in then follow this instruction:
1)Go to https://www-act.ucsd.edu/studentService/mytritonlink](ImageShack - Best place for all of your image hosting and image sharing needs) and log in.
2) Press on More Tools… (on the left column)
3) Scroll down until you see Financial tools (in Bold)
4) Press on Financial Aid
5) Press select on 2011-2012
6)And there you should see a checklist under Mandatory Tasks!

Thank you Thank you.
So we fill out the form and print it and fax it right? it’s three pages correct?? I need this money… so nervous…

Oh and on instruction it says:
Attach 2010 Federal Income Tax Form, 1040, 1040A, or 1040EZ (only include page 1 & 2 with signature) for you and your parent(s).

Does this mean when we fax tomorrow they need 2010 Federal Tax Form again??

and where do I fax them???

Um… the instructions answer both of your questions.

Squash those butterflies in your stomach and reread 'em.

What forms you send depend on how you and your parents did (or did not do) taxes… just like the instructions say!

I only did the dependent verification and parent tax because I didn’t file last year.

Thanks so much Ktran13!

The only mandatory task that I have to complete is to “enroll in/update direct deposit account information”

Hmmm, interesting… so no dependent verification or tax forms needed… seems odd.

It’s random sampling.

I wish I was as lucky as you.

I am in the same boat as you Coolaid317. I find the random sampling odd but hopefully ucsd doesn’t screw me over in the end.

alazyguy// Thank you… So you faxed them the dependent verification AND parents income tax(fist two pages with your parent’s signature?)???(with the coversheet)

Yep. Faxed 7 pages total including my Fax Cover Sheet.

Thank you so much alazguy Why did you fax you yours when you didn’t file tax last year?

Lol, what with everyone faxing the files? Am I the only one that send it by mail? It is safe to send it by mail as long as I postmark it right?
