Partly through scholarships and partly through federal loans, I will not have to pay anything for my first year at NYU. Do I still have to pay my tuition deposit/ housing application since I am not expected to pay anything this year? If I do pay it, will I get a refund?
Normally, instructions/next steps should have been included in your acceptance letter: accept/decline admissions, submit enrollment and housing deposits by 5/1/18, apply for housing, review financial aid award letter, accept/decline aid, submit final HS transcript, etc.
Go to the school’s admitted students website for more information.
Oh, and keep in mind: “loans” and “will not have to pay anything” are NOT the same thing.
You are expected to pay back those federal loans, with interest.
You will still have to pay the deposit by 5/1
