My freshmen GPA is horrible... I mean REALLY horrible like 2.x
I managed to bring the GPA up to 3.2 during my sophomore year and my junior year GPA was 4.4.... Considering that I have high SAT SCORE like 2100~2400 and high SAT II scores, good recs, good ec, good essay.... Do I have a chance at going to schools like U of Michigan or Notre Dame or NYU etc??

there really wasn't a reason my grades were so low during fresh/sopho but there is a reason why my grades sky rocketted during junior year... but then I had no APs in junior year but only 2 honors courses.... Math and English...However I will be taking 4 AP courses by senior year....

Someone told me that they almost diregard freshman grades. I can't really help you out with the other things you mentioned, because I don't really know.

They don't just disregard all freshman year grades, but they do look for trends. Since yours is an upwards trend, it will definately benefit you. If you do end up with test scores like that, I do think you will end up with a chance. Just really work on your essay and try to find a reason that you struggled at first. Maybe you just weren't ready for high school, you know? I do think you will have a chance, however.

during freshmen year I really didn't think school as important but after my grandmother passed away I realized how stupid I was being....

so do you guys think I should send my app late so I can include my senior year grades too? Or should I just fast as I can and wait until they ask for my senior grades.....But what if they don't ask for it!!

That sounds like a good possible essay topic. Send your app on time (or early) because they will wait for your grades if they think they will give you a chance. They won't if you could get a 4.0 and not get in, but ND is a very patient school with that. They even wait for final grades from transfers which makes life more difficult for them (most everyone else uses midterm grades). Just send it in on time or early and they will give you every chance they can, including waiting on grades if they need to. If you apply regular, then they will at least get your first semester grades, you know? Good luck.

is it 100% sure that they will wait for my 1st term senior year grades?

If you apply regular action and not early action, yes, they should wait for them.

if I apply early action there is no chance that they will wait for my sr grade?

Only if they were to defer you but there really isn't a way they could since they send out decisions before Christmas, so it just would be too fast. You probably could send them estimated grades, but those aren't really worth much. If you are worried about it, just apply regular action. It really can't hurt you.

okay i guess i will thanks
