I'm trying to decide between uc berkeley (spring admit but in their freshman extension program) and ucsd.

I will be a molecular cell bio with an emphasis in genetics major at berkeley, and a physiology and neuroscience (but am going to switch to molecular biology) major at ucsd. I want to be a geneticist and do research work only so i'm not premed.

UCSD is closer to home and that's where my parents want me to go. UC Berkeley seems like a great opportunity and I do not want to regret not going there.

So where do you think I should go? Which would be a better school for what I want to major in? I really need help. Thanks for everything! and if anyone has any information they are willing to share about either of these schools would be greatly appreciated.

Its a tough choice, but given your major (if you are passionate about it) UCSD is fine. This way you don’t miss out.

I’m not a big fan of the spring admit either but I will be attending their freshman extension program which means that I will attend berkeley in the fall but will just have to take some classes in their extension building. From what I’ve heard, it’s basically like being a fall admit except that I have some classes in a different location. The problem is that I’m not guaranteed housing …
