Anyways, I just received two cold rejections from summer internships I was applying to. Worst day ever (until next year probably).

Are there any programs that I can apply to for the summer at all? I live in the Philadelphia area, but I can be anywhere in the states. I'm going to be let out of school in about two weeks, and I would like to start working/ interning then. I'm open to anything at this moment- preferably I'd like to do an internship/ summer program though. My stats are pretty average, but not likely to shut me out of anything, as long as it's not too prestigious (GPA: 3.5+/ ACT: 35). I'm chinese as well, which is probably a bad thing for admissions (although it also does mean I can teach english to mandarin speaking people over the summer).

Yeah, I really hope it doesn’t go down to that.

I’m still getting letters from Brown and Syracuse for their summer programs. Truth is though, I don’t want to fork over 4,000 dollars for a mediocre “college experience” program. I already go to boarding school, so it seems a little redundant.

Are there any programs, hopefully in the Philadelphia area, that are available to get high school students. Obviously, you guys probably cannot help me find internships at the independence hall or anything like that; I know that I can put in a little research on my own time. However, are there any high-octane programs like TASP, or RSI, or SSP, or even Drexel High school Research Summer thing or whatever that I can still apply to? I’m leaning toward environmental science, math, and physics/chemistry, so anything related to those subjects would be golden.

Have you considered the Summer Honors Program at Robert E. Cook Honors College? (IUP - Indiana, PA)
They have various science offers and the regular decision deadline is June 1. I will be attending this year, definitely looking forward to it.

DitteO and Collegebum2011 - my son is also attending the Robert E. Cook Honors College Summer Honors Program. We are from the Jersey Shore area. Where are you guys from.

You’re welcome, I hope you find the perfect match.
I haven’t been able to find many reviews about SHP but the ones i found were definitely positive!

kleibo, that sounds great. I am from Denmark, Europe.

Oh, Italy is simply amazing! Okay I admit it, I have only been there once which was in Rome (tourism…), but I liked the atmosphere there, especially because it wasn’t during the peak season.
For how long have you lived in PA?

Oops, sorry; I meant that I would be in Philadelphia over the summer- my sibling has a house there, and currently goes to medical school in the US. I live in Rome though!

I’m afraid, I’ve never gone to Denmark- maybe I should go if I don’t get into any summer programs :P.

To Every body: Also, I’d like to know if there are any summer programs at all, in the entire US, where I can still apply to. I don’t know if I said that already- if I have, forgive me, I’m just desperately nervous.

Ah, okay. Well, I would definitely put a summer program in the U.S. above e.g. Copenhagen, but that’s easy for me to say since I’m used to the city, haha.

Promys looks pretty awesome! I’m also applying to Robert E. Cook- thanks you guys!

If there’s anything else that I can apply to, especially if it’s philadelphia specific, I would really appreciate it! Penn is my first choice, so a program there would be amazing. Otherwise, even something at a bank or a museum would be a dream. Any ideas where I can find this information, or if you actually do know, are there any programs that I can still apply to at this point?
