Developing a "spike" in my application and choosing a major

Hi there,

I’m a junior in high school who is an accomplished writer. About 75% of my time and extracurriculars are writing-based. I think I have developed a good passion/spike to help me stand out.
But when applying to colleges, will admissions expect me to apply for a major in writing? Or can I apply for a major in business with a minor in, say, journalism? Would this make admissions officers question my application?

say you’re undeclared, or better yet, apply as a english/writing major and then switch if you’re college allows you
