the handout that was sent in the mail. thoughts/comments.

its pretty much a scam. horrible quality stuff at ripoff prices. its not even from UCLA if you read it carefully. just goto someplace like linens n things, bed bath & beyond, target, etc etc to get them. the size is Twin XL. most stores will carry it, especially around this back to school time.

i bought a student starter pack and a student showerpack from that place. returned it for a refund just last month. the quality of the bedding truly sucks. i believe the thread count on those sheets were 180... horrible. the comforter that came with it, also a piece of crap. the student shower pack is also just bad quality pieces of plastic molded from poorly designed molds. please save your money, i know i wasted mine since i had to pay for return shipping (over $40 bucks!). learn from my mistakes...

btw, i rebought all my stuff from linens n things. they have a huge sale/clearance right now and stack that with their 20% off coupon, it was a no-brainer for me.

i bought a korean style comforter (its been my dream ever since i was a child to cuddle down at night with one of these)
im pretty happy :)

Sniff, Sniff, I smelt a scam when I noticed the UCLA Store logo on the envelope for Residential Hall Linens was not in color.

All of the letters, offers, and notices I have received from UCLA or any of it's affiliates have some sort of UCLA insignia in color. I know it may seem like a awkward theory but it works.

As far as the bedding you can go to Ikea or Linens and Things

i was wondering...doesn't UCLA know about this?

i bet ucla makes money off of giving marketers our information

I never remember signing any release stating UCLA could provide my contact information to marketers

maybe we did... i have been receiving a lot of spam e-mails ever since i came back from orientation..

=(

What kind of spam?

god dont be such an ass... i was going to ask about something else i received but i edited my post.

So UCLA doesn't actually have a store persay for bedding and the like? I should have been a bit more suspicious because I was expecting it to be part of the UCLA Store site and it wasn't...

I knew previous ones were clearly scams, but the UParents one got me...I opened everything too. Crap, what should I do? >_>

EDIT: It appears that some colleges actually link to Resident Hall Linens for linens. I'm confused...but it does look like I have to return these.

Thanks a lot to Sandkicks for having the brains to question that stupid handout.

I was fooled by their advertising... but I e-mailed them to cancel my order. They better effing cancel it... I don't want to pay 40 bucks return shipping! (why the hell does it cost 40 bucks to ship something anyway.. that's crazy?)

Edit: Neo Yoyo, just e-mail them now or call them tomorrow... I'm gonna do both!

It seems beyond refund for me, seeing as everything has been taken apart. Even the packaging box has been thrown away.

I'm not sure I trust RHL at all to refund. Grrr...

Just keep the stuff. The sheets aren't bad and the towels and stuff are good quality. They company is nationally certified and the reason the stuff is different is becuase they order from stock.
