I just received an email from UCSB and I'm getting a triple room dorm. I applied for a single, if not that, then a double. I haven't received an official letter informing what residence hall I will be located in. That will be mailed the last week of August.

Is anyone else have this "dilemma." I'm ok with it but I really like having my own space at times.

Also, do they place you with other transfer students (i'm a transfer student) or do they place you with other grade levels?

I recieved the same email, except it said I “primarily” applied for double occupency though like 4 of my 7 choices were triples. I’m going to email or call them to try to fix this. For your situation, I’m not surprised seeing as they sent an email last week saying that 2/3 dorms will be triples or small doubles this year due to too many people.

It’s very common to be placed in a triple without requesting one, actually. There are lots of students nowadays. It can come off as a surprise at first, but people tend to adjust after a couple weeks. They either find that their roommates aren’t so bad or just spend their time elsewhere.

Chances are you’ll be roomed with non-freshen.

Uhh, in the UCSB email, they said they put me into a double, but I need to get a triple. I think I wrote triples in the preference forms too. Can I still get into a triple?

The email also said something about a de-tripling form, has anyone filled one of those out before? And how reliable r they? In terms of the chances of getting out of triples
