Did anyone get interview from NYU?

they don't give them i don't think

Really?! Cause I know alot of people who didn't get an interview and they got in.

most people don't get interviews.

So who gets the interviews?

I believe people who need to be auditioned get interviewed?

ummm well interview = not exactly an admittance. there's plenty of people who will get in with or w/o an interview. if you're talking about gsp, then they want an interview even though they've probably already made their decision.

it doesnt mean if you dont get an interview your rejected.. i never got an interview and i go to nyu

"I got interviewed. They only interview you if they are seriously considering your application. This applies to all schools. If you did not find out about interviews yet, you are rejected."

-- This quote, correct or not, freaked me out. NYU says they do not ask for interviews. And I dont know of many people who HAVE got interviewed, other than students of Tisch which are just auditions, but still got in. Can someone confirm either of these. I haven't heard from NYU for an interview, and I sure hope I'm not rejected already like mattistole seems to think

So, it's not true, is it?
I sure hope its not...

All Tisch students get interviewed, and I guess GSP students who are "in" have interviews which are supposedly just like information sessions. There's another thread I'm quoting the GSP part from. But I got in Tisch and 1/2 of the audition is acting and 1/2 is interview.

"I got interviewed. They only interview you if they are seriously considering your application. This applies to all schools. If you did not find out about interviews yet, you are rejected."

he's just yanking your chain.

dont worry u people NYU doesnt require interviews
i got accepted ED and wasnt interviewed(...no it wasnt gsp)
besides they told me at an information session that they'd rather NOT give interviews cz it would jst complicate everythin since they have such a huge applicant pool

so...don't worry

I got in ED and was not interviewed or even asked if I wanted one.

I got accepted ED Tisch and I was not interviewed. All the other kids I know who got in ED were also not interviewed.

Point made. ;)

Then you aren't in Tisch acting. I meant Tisch acting/directing students get interviewed. I don't know anything about the other Tisch tracks...

WHEW!!!

i just wiped the sweat beads that formed after i read that one guy's comment (exaggerated)

I heard people got interviews this year. Don't know if they are lying. People that NYU thinks are not qualified enough but still want to admit. This is only from what I have heard from my classmates.

In NYU's FAQ section:

"Personal interviews generally are not part of our admissions process. Because of the high volume of applicants and visitors to NYU, we are unable to accommodate requests for personal interviews.

The information sessions we offer are very comprehensive in nature. Most visitors find that attending a session answers most of the questions they have about NYU.

If you feel there is information you would like to share with the admissions committee that is not addressed in the questions on our application, we encourage you to include an additional personal statement with your application. "
