Starskimmer is exhaggerating his stats cuz he should have slightly less than 7700 points with the stats he just posted and would't be 166 points away from admission. I was 3 points away from the fall cutoff and am going winter now because of it. Now that's being close. 166 points is a lot lol. So many other people closer to being accepted than u got rejected.

My friend got rejected.

GPA: 3.6 w
SAT: 1960

Eagle Scout, Volunteer hours, CSF, AP classes.

He's going to UCSB instead.

@LebronAnthony: Dude, first of all, yes, those were my stats - I'm not exaggerating. Second, I'm a girl. What guy you know would have a username like "starskimmer"?

@junshik: Nope. ): Maybe you did have better ECs, all I had was cello, piano, youth orchestra, and boxing. And some school site council thing. The counselor I talked to said that my lack of leadership and volunteering was the problem. I dunno about leadership, but it's true I didn't have 200 hours of volunteering. :P (shoulda known that would come back to haunt me...)

My friend got rejected from UCSD and he is really smart but unfortunately he had the same profile like alot of other students-he applied as an engineer. Yet I got admitted. Schools try to get a well rounded group of people, and for those departments that are highly ranked you will be judged alot harsher, as there are alot of similar applications, so the stakes get higher. Though in the end we both attended UCD. It all works out. Im glad this college stuff is over. Its ok if you dont make your first choice, Make the best of it. Getting into any UC school is a good thing. The UC's are cool because they have access to alot of resources and share certain programs together.
