the loans that we received........ do we have to take them to a lender inorder to receive them. b/c i recieved a call from a lender about one of the loans and i dont understand what i have to do inorder to receive the loans

I was ED, and I didn't get any merit money.

Yeah, I figure why should they dangle a carrot in front of someone who is already "locked in" to attend. Well, everyone knows if you apply ED you can't count on getting money. That's part of the trade off of that "strategy". No regrets here.

I also applied ED and didn't recieve any money even though I was nominated as an ENGAGE finalist. I agree...why would they try to pull you in with money if they already had you?

Can't blame 'em. You don't keep feeding bait to the fish that's already in the boat! : )

Does anyone from years past have stories about surprise last minute merit money awarded to ED admits once the final commitments from RD were completed? In other words, if students Vandy offered merit awards to don't attend, will Vandy then consider that money for ED admits?

ItsHerLife -- I can't believe you only received a 1/2 tuition scholarship when you have a 4.0, 9 APs and scores of 4+, and a top rank.......

then imagine those folks with the full tuition scholarship ?

Anyone know the numbers? I imagine there are only a few 100 merit based scholar recipients - I think I saw a figure somewhere - 1% of all Vandy students receive Merit Based aid

anyone here apply for the chancellor's scholarship?

I applied for Chancellor's but didn't get any word from them. I thought I'd at least get a letter saying I didn't get it...guess not :-p

Hoyamom, Vandy overawards scholarships knowing that not everyone who receives an offer will be attending. They unfortunately don't rotate unused scholarships to other admits.
