Did Anyone Hug The Mailman Today!

Congrats 2012Hopeful. Where are you from? I am hopeful for you, hooya. You still have options . . .we've heard of others that continue to fight for those med waivers and are successful somehow, NROTC, keep on that MALO, etc. Did you speak with your regional officer?

The Academy is really confused about IDAY! Son who will be a cadre this summer has been told June 27th, Daughters letter of Appointment says the 27th, called RO and he said the 27th and BGO said July 2nd.

2012 I too then called the admissions office again and was told again June 27th! The officer I spoke to said she would check out the July 2nd rumor and get back to me - so far no word. Wish they would straighten this out and get all of the calendars, offices and people on the same page.

I-day has been on a wednesday for years....not sure why that is.

7/2 is a wednesday.... but seeing that they get 7/4 "off," (well, not really ).... seems odd to start it a "week late"...

6/27 seems to "fit" what has been done in past years... but who's to say things won't change for this year!

You can always book rooms for plan A (6/27) and plan B (7/2) and cancel what you don't need. If making flight arrangements, hold off a bit until things are confirmed for sure.

Personally, I would make sure to have 6/27 covered...just in case!

called twice got two different people got two different answers.
Got both weeks booked at the hotel.
I got an Idea>>>>>come early take in a Orioles game. See DC and the Monuments. Drive down to Ocean City and do a beach Day. Drive Down to Richmond and do Kings Dominion.

More confusion=More Fun for the Blogosphere and Forum Gossip :)
seriously folks I am sure it will all be taken care of before the end of the Month of January and we will all get letters clarifying.

Semper Gumby All

Just emailed the Admissions office and got a response back (very quickly!). She said that I-day was originally set for 6/27, but has been changed to 7/2. Also said that a letter will be going out soon and apologized for the inconvenience.

I had already opted for navy2010's plan of booking rooms for both dates... and I think I'll keep both reservations until the Permit to Report comes, just to cover all bases!

Does the Academy request final grades before Senior yr?

found out about my appointment last night. congressman's office called me. My envelope should arrive monday. USNA Class of 2012. 168 Days until I-Day

Didn't give a hug today, but im going to. I received my first nomination from my senator yesterday, and then a second nomination from my congressman today. Then about 15 minutes after I opened the nomination letter from my congressman, he called me personally and told me the naval academy found me fully qualified and is going to mail out an appointment letter Friday.

Congrats and "cyber hugs" to the Class of 2012!!!

Watch out! INCOMING!!! :)

(ps... to all the "moms" out there... if you think you know your postman well now, just wait..... ;) )

The academy will request final grades from your Senior year once the year has been completed...
moral of this story....
keep studying and working hard...you are not done yet!!!!

So would doing poorly on a midterm (Calculus) exam affect my acceptance?

I don't think one bad grade will sink the ship....

but what it can do is give you a "heads up" to do a course correction!

Suggest getting some extra instruction and doing what is necessary to do well on what tests remain, and obtaining a good final grade. It is the final grade that will count.
