I was just accepted to UCSB did anyone receive an "unoffical financial aid letter? Maybe I am looking in the wrong place?

I had a “unofficial award letter”, clicked on it but there was nothing there… :S

i did too! but i think it the fafsa will be completed in early april and just keep checking the portal, the official financial aid letter should appear when it is completed

what jazzdancegoof said

I just received my unofficial letter

How likely is the UC grant for 4 years provided my financial info stays about the same?

Also, can I opt out of the “direct charge” for the health care?

they said I am eligible for

5500 unsubsidized direct stafford loan
25374 PLUS loan

what ??? no grant or scholarship ???

i got 22k in grants
7k in loans (subsidized and unsubsidized)
2k in work study

tsilve, can you share your grant with me if you don’t need the money ???
I think my EFC is like 35,000 …

got 16k in grants/scholarships and 14k in loans

so no work study?

what ??? Lewis, you got grant too … this is starting to peas me off …

leakers, did you apply for the Cal Grant?

haha i need the grant i think on your fafsa or UC application they asked you if you wanted to do work study, and I said yes a lot of my money (about $11k) is from the cal grant because i’m a CA resident.

I just got mine…CalGrant isn’t factored in this right?

I said yes to work study too but it doesn’t show up on my letter :(

yeah it should say “Possible Cal Grant Eligibility” on your unofficial award letter

oh, i don’t know why i was offered work study then. who knows but i’m glad i got it

is there a way to get work study if you weren’t offered it initially ?

After some punches in the calculator looks like I have $15,000 uncovered (not counting deathly evil loans)…sigh. College, wai u so expensive…

I think your family has to make less than 50K a year to qualify for Cal Grant, unfortunately my family makes $50,001 … I told my dad to work an hour less, and he does not listen …
