I had constantly called the Pomona Admissions Office for the past month and a half, and they never answered their phones. I thought it was due to the number of applicants calling, so I tried calling at different times, but because they were open only from 9 am to 4 pm, it was hard to call them often. However, I got worried and checked online today and found out that I had been calling the wrong number... I called 621-8314 instead of 621-8134...So when I finally called, the receptionist told me that they were all booked for December, and so I had to settle for a spot Jan 2nd. However, on a sheet I recieved from Pomona it says "Please call the Office of Admissions at least two weeks in advance to schedule an interview, and even earlier for appointments on Saturdays or in December and January." It also says that "You are encouraged to interview prior to submitting your application." Because the deadline for Pomona is 1/1 and my interview is 1/2, are they going to think that I'm a lazy procrastinator and have no interest whatsoever in Pomona? I really want to go there. Should I explain why I called so late or will they think that I'm trying to make an excuse?

I don't know, I think explaining they might think you are just working too hard for points. the truth is, admisions committees don't think about all these little things as much as we think they do. You are really just another piece of paper.

Don't worry about the timing. Concentrate on having a kick**s interview.

I agree. You certainly haven't "screwed yourself over". Again, focus on having a strong interview- it will be clear by your answers how interested you are in Pomona. Good luck!
