So I didn't know we had to interview if we were from southern california, so I didn't schedule my interview. What do I do now? I tried calling them but pomona admissions is closed for winter break. Any advice? Should I even bother applying now?

I would still apply. Try calling them after break to explain your situation.

One of my hallmates lives in SoCal, didn’t interview, and was still accepted, so it’s completely possible. If you’re really interested in Pomona, definitely apply.

We also live in Southern California and learned of the requirement in late November. Daughter requested an interview on 11/30/11 and was told that they were full and was placed on a wait list. She was never contacted for an interview and like you we wonder how much this will hurt her chance of admission.

As posted elsewhere, not having an interview will not hurt you especially if you requested one. On the flip side, having an interview will help provide a more rounded “picture” of you as an applicant, but lots of folks have gotten accepted without interviewing.
