Did I kill my chances at transferring somewhere nice?

This has been the classes I've taken so far in community college with the grades (in order):

Psychology- B
Oral Communications (speech class)- B
English 101- A
Intro to Anthro- A
Politics of States and Cities- A
World History- A
English 102- A
United States History- A
Spanish 101- A
The National Political System- A
Intermediate Algebra- C

GPA: 3.63

Next semester I plan on taking

World Mythology
Statistics
Philosophy
Abnormal Psychology
Spanish 102

I should be getting about a 3.75 that semester making my total GPA about 3.69 which is the GPA I'd be applying to transfer with.

I do plan on taking a science class after this semester^

I've had a dream to transfer into a really good college such as University of Southern California, Cornell, Brown, George Washington University, Johns Hopkins, NYU, UCLA, University of Michigan, etc...

My dream school was Georgetown but I think I killed that one.

Will that C in intermediate algebra kill my chances? It's not even a college level course so does it really matter? I am so disappointed in myself for getting that grade. I'm never taking a 6 week online summer math course again.

I don't want to sound like some winey person with a decent GPA complain about it but my high school gpa was 2.0 and I really need EVERY bit of help to transfer into the schools above.

If it matters I'm a political science major and got A's in the only 2 poli sci classes my school offers.

I'm first generation, male, and hispanic if that matters at all.

Any input is appreciated.

Usually a course that isn’t a college level class will not count towards an overall college GPA. You may still need to take a college level math before transferring though.

Your GPA is great. It’d be a long shot to transfer into a lot of those schools for just about anyone, but it’s still worth a shot. Make sure you have safety schools.

No, you have not ruined your chances of going to a good school. There are hundreds of great schools in this country, and I’m willing to wager that a few of them would be happy to accept you.

For USC you will have to submit secondary school records.
[Transfer Students - USC Undergraduate Admission](http://www.usc.edu/admission/undergraduate/apply/transfer.html)

“USC calculates your transfer GPA on the basis
of your grades in all USC-transferable courses,
including grades of D and below. Plus and minus
grading is taken into account. Incompletes and
missing grades from your transfer institution are
treated as an “F.” Credit/No Credit and Pass/No
Pass marks are not included in the transfer GPA.
USC does not honor other colleges’ academic
“renewal” or “forgiveness” programs that permit
students to improve a substandard grade. If
you repeat a transferable course for which you
earned a grade of D+ or lower, both grades will be
included in your transfer GPA; if the grade on the
first course was a C- or higher, then only the first
grade is included”

And for those transfer classes they say they expect A’s and B+'s.
