hmm... I have no theory for this. I'll be semi-devastated if I get rejected after this.

Last name starts with "k"

Woman of Troy: what other schools did you apply to? How would you rate your EC's? essays? Your GPA is solid!

well isn't the most competitive major gpa wise @ UCLA communications?

How can you get Regents invite? Are you transfering student?

What do you mean how? And yes, I am a transfer student.

Last name starts with "F" called at 8:15

I heard that Regents only give to high school applicants.

Nope, it is given to both freshmen and transfer students for both UCLA and UCB.

RCHANG/Pinktee-
Yes it is. -___-
Just UCLA & USC. cough lol.
EC's= meh. I was involved but not spectacular. Dean's List, Enviro. & LSU, Mentoring, volunteer w/ Film Independent.

Essays- Solid. But a handful of disgusting spelling mistakes. I kept reading my essay over and over the day I submitted (day after thanksgiving, I believe) that I guess I got dizzy and overlooked them. When I logged back in to my receipt I was sooo paranoid. I hope they thought it was a joke (?) haha.

I dont have any chances for scholarship, I didnt even apply for that because Iam an international student...T_T

I think they do something today because I got an mail and u got a phone call

spelling mistakes troy? how is that possible, don't you have automatic spell check?

EC's sound pretty good to me! And from the hours of searching I've been doing on the forums here (for ucla-communication-transfer-threads), it seems like its an almost automatic in if you have a 3.9 or above and have met the pre-reqs offered... and then anything between 3.5-3.9 is where it gets extremely competitive.

Anyway, from all that I've seen, comparing what you say about your EC's and essays and GPA... it seems like you are sure to get in! I'm wishing you all the luck (not that you'll need it, but you know...)

RCHANG- I turn it off because it annoys me -______- Yeah, not the best thing to do. I just think its crazy because I had 4 different people read it. I think its just a few silly mistakes but seriously... I was mortified when I went back to read them.

Thanks Pinktee! :) I applied to those two because they both have great Comms. Programs. They're also crazy competitive, but oh well, I sigh at my insecurities. UCLA is insane but their courses I've seen are really interesting. USC I hear only admits 50 transfers.

Just got a call around 8pm tonight too, I was in my physics lecture so I just ignored it. The guy left a message asking me to apply for the scholarship and etc.

Ektaylor: I agree with Woman.Of.Troy here, you have nothing to worry about. You have a 4.0 and that is good enough to get you in anywhere, and since you got the Regents invite that's practically a guarantee. If I were you I wouldn't even spend the time on this forum getting anxious along with everybody else. Will it feel better to get accepted after going through this gruesome process? Perhaps, but in your case I doubt it's worth it.

P.S. Now I'm sad because I got called by a guy instead of a hot chick, lol. :p

did you have the mistakes on the SC one as well?

^^ Which mistakes are you referring to?

her essays

Uh... Heck no. I sent that to 6 people to read and only 1 pointed out mistakes, the one person being my mentor I told you guys about. Maybe that's what it was... hey... friends don't let friends make mistakes on entrance essays!

Additional information: I just asked my friend who was accepted into both Cal and UCLA last year. He received the same phone call last year.

What does it mean? I'm not sure, it could be that people who received the phone call are accepted; it could be that people who received the phone call are what they deem "likely" to be accepted. Or, it could be absolutely nothing at all. :D

Best of luck everybody!
