I am just curious to know how many people got into their first choice college. I got into Sixth college, which was my third choice, but I'm happy with it.

Also, how would I go about finding out what classes I need to take at UCSD if I am a sociology major?

Thanks guys!

Your fifth choice? That sucks, I thought most people get into their first choice.

Thank you very much for the link

I got into my first but I’m going to be attending Berkeley. 1st was warren.

I got into my first choice which was Marshall.

No problem. Yeah I actually called when I got my acceptance and before I told the admissions offer that I got put in my fifth choice I asked how they decide. She said, “most people get their 1st or 2nd and occasionally we have to put them in their3rd.” I said wow, then how can you explain me getting my fifth. She backpedaled and gave me the whole numbers game excuse and that the people with lower point totals sometimes don’t get their choices. I have no idea how I was on the lower end of point total, but oh well.

I got into my first choice, Eleanor Roosevelt :D

@UChopeful: Thanks for the explanation… that’s interesting.

@Corinnejay: Lucky you! Warren was my first choice

First choice, Warren. Doing engineering so anything other than Warren/Muir would be a dealbreaker.

Got into Muir, my first choice!

Got in marshal my first choice!

@sunnyseas I think Marshall is actually better for engineering transfers than both those schools. I had originally though Warren was the best, but they require 3 upper-division GE’s, whereas Marshall only requires 2

I think if you got accepted in first and second batch then you will get first choice college. For people that got accepted on the last batch, they will be forced to attend ERC or Revelle :(

^ Wrong, I was accepted in second batch.

I got into Revelle and I’m doing engineering…I would have preferred Warren, but I’m excited that I got into UCSD in the first place!

I know! I am so happy that I’m in lol I feel like I have no right to complain at this point. It was such a relief to know I’m in

got my 3rd choice, ERC. I’m an engineering major as well so all the GE’s are a deal breaker for me. So if any of you got Warren, Marshall or Muir and AREN’T going to actually go to UCSD refer to UChopeful’s thread and request a switch to ERC you might be saving some of your CC buddies 3 quarters of GE’s (and a few thousand dollars to boot).

@ UChopeful, the whole points total thing makes sense, both of my friends who are going to UCSD both got their first choice and I got stuck with my 3rd, I think maybe because I’m so behind on pre-reqs I got screwed on college placement
. It really makes no sense to put me in ERC though… having so many pre-reqs to take is exactly why I shouldn’t be in the college which requires a lot of GE.

How do you know the spots will go to you guys though, if anyone accepts to send that e mail?

I got into Warren, my first choice :]
