I got braces a couple month ago. My teeth weren’t crooked, just spaces. Having braces has made me confident in my smile. I don’t mind that in getting them just now. Only one and a half more years!

I don’t mind people with crooked teeth, but I do mind if they are “bad”. As in yellow, rotting, and whatnot. There’s a difference between not being able to control the position of your teeth and not taking care of your teeth. I’m very particular with oral hygiene. I could just go on and on about how to brush your teeth, but that’s another post ;)

Really messed up teeth are a huge turnoff. FACT

I have seen people before and after braces, and honestly, I can’t tell the difference.
Unless I had REALLY big problems, and my teeth were pretty much at 90 degree angles or something, I wouldn’t. Luckily, they aren’t, so my teeth have been unscathed.
My siblings have orthodontic problems, though- but they have brackets/space maintainers and rubber bands, not braces.

I have really messed up teeth and I need/want braces…

I’m getting them on this Wednesday …

I had braces in middle school. I could have cared less about my teeth then, but looking back on pictures now, I’m like THANK GOD FOR ORTHODONTICS. I guess it’s kind of shallow, but I think straight teeth are relatively important. They’re just so noticeable… Small imperfections and crooked teeth are whatever, but if it’s something that stands out, then it irks me.

I had them for two years from seventh to ninth grade, mostly to correct an overbite.
