So heres my problem, i did my college apps back in oct/nov and didnt put a class i failed during 5th semester Spanish 3A
on my CSUN application (accident) but i did put it on the other colleges i applied to . also, i got a D in Physio 7th semester. Will CSUN rescind my provisional admittance?
Is the class listed on the transcript your guidance counselor sent to the school? If it was on your transcript, the college knows. The “D” is for one semester? What’s your average for the year?
yes it was on the transcript but i never sent them my transcripts. i was told to send them in once ive decided on a school (CSUN now). The D was for fall semester last senior year and this semester i dropped the class and took Environmental Studies (A in that class now)
Most Cal states require that you pass your Senior year a-g courses with a C or higher along with reporting all classes and grades 9-11th. Better to contact admissions now and see what options are available than waiting until you send your transcript and they find the omitted F and the D. This would be grounds for being rescinded. Be proactive and hopefully you can work things out with admissions. Do it now or you may not have any choices later.
so im about to send this to admission and records:
Hi, I recently found out that i made a mistake on my application which i turned in back in October. I accidentally omitted a fail in Spanish 3 during my 5th semester. At the time, I thought that i was supposed to only put classes in which i received credit for (a fail nets 0 credits) so i thought i was supposed to omit that. It was only this week, when i spoke with my college counselor, that i realized the mistake i had made. I hope that you can understand this mistake, thank you.
Do you think this is fine? Should i add anything else (like that im already admitted)?
PS: my college counselor notified me that the D is fine because it was not a part of my A-G requirements
Any chance your counselor could submit a note along with statement to validate your omission was just discovered ?
Agree with Gumbymom. Say “I recently discovered”, and rather than say “I hope you can understand this mistake”, take ownership. Get rid of that line, instaed say “I regret this error and want to clarify there was no intent to withhold information. Please contact me with any further questions. I appreciate your help in this situation.” And PLEASE capitalize the word I.
