From what I've read there are 3 pathways a chemistry major can take at Dartmouth. Out of curiosity, which is most commonly picked by medical school hopefuls?

In general med school hopefuls don’t become chem majors because the chem department has the lowest (or among the lowest) median grades of all depts at Dartmouth. Most end up being bio majors (which you’ll notice, is also one of the “toughest grading” departments. However, you’ll find that only two classes in CHEM are required for med school, while several BIOL classes are, hence the tendency towards BIOL majors.

There are very few chem majors per year (usually in the range 5-12).

You should talk to an advisor in the CHEM department about which track is best for you.

Also, there are now 4 tracks to a chem major at Dartmouth. A new track (Biological Chemistry) has been approved (in addition to A, B, and Biophysical Chemistry).
