Different colleges @ UCSD...

Hey everyone. I was wondering if anyone knew anything about the different colleges at UCSD. I was just accepted into Muir college, and would like to know if that is good or bad!

muir and marshall have superb living conditions. i hear roosevelt and 6th have some of the worst. that's all i know.

I just got accepted into Revelle for Biology Which UCSD college is good for Biology? I hope I chose the right one.

hm.. someone whos currently attending UCSD please tell me the differences among 6 different colleges

Information on the six colleges can be found here:
http://www.ucsd.edu/college.html

People from all majors live in all of the colleges: they are not strictly divided that way. They are groups to live and socialize in, and each college has a different set of core course requirements which their sites spell out (some require foreign language, for instance, while others that don't might require a different mix of science courses). I believe your academic advisor is associated with your college also.

(Graduation requirements for each of the colleges can be found here: http://admissions.ucsd.edu/dev3/colleges/bluesheet2004.pdf)
Note that UCSD does not allow you to change your college, at least not for the first year.

I just got in Muir too!

i got into muir as well

Which is the most prestigious college at UCSD if there is one?

Which college is good for Biology i want to become a doctor.

I think that Muir college is the most prestigious because I heard that they have the highest number applicants, and the lowest accepted of all of them.

UClippers05,

"Revelle general education requirements lean towards biology and chemistry. It is widely considered to have the toughest general education requirements."

you majoring in Gen Biology? if you did, why didn't you pick like Human Bio, or biotech, or biomedical engineer, or one of the other hundreds of majors with the word Bio in it....??

Saddream whats the difference? Whats Human Biology? yeah i got in as Gen. Biology. Is something wrong?

I GOT INTO SIXTH!! woohoo!

but is place considered the worst or something? plz enlighten me as i have never (nor do i plan) to visit ucsd before i decide btwn ucd and ucsd

haha Persian king i am Persian too woot woot Can anyone help me w/ my question about UCSD colleges?

wow didnt expect a lot of persians in CC.... (im persian as well) ...but yea expected more of an asian community in CC

UClippers,
i also go in as Gen. Biology, but is that good enough for pre-med?

i don't know the difference between Gen bio and Human bio, but i put Human bio as my alternate major. you see, i am so confused because there are so many majors for the sciences. i don't know if i chose the right one (Gen. Bio) because like you, UClippers, I want to become a physician and i want to major in the right area

For med school....it doenst matter what you major in. General bio is good because it is easier than biomedical engineering, and thus you have more time on your hands for extracurriculars.

I got into Eleanor Roosevelt. I haven't seen anyone talk about Roosevelt college. Is it bad?

I got into Roosevelt and would like to know what it is like also...

hows marshall?
