Different Names?

On my passport, it has my name as one word together (i.e. Maryjane) but when I registered for the SATs and on my HS transcript, it will have my name with a space (i.e. Mary Jane). Which way should I use my name when I'm applying? Thanks for any input! :)

Use the name on your HS transcript. It'll save you a lot of trouble.

You should use your legal name is as this will be the name on your birth certificate, ss card, state Id, etc. If the name on your passport or any other records are incorrect, then you should take the opportunity to have it corrected and changed now as it will save you a lot of time and headaches in the future.

i think sybbie is right -- whatever your legal name is -- im assuming the school enters you ss# and then has a printout of all your info or something, so whatever you think will appear there is what you should probably use

The name on my SS card and passport are without the spaces so thats probably how I'll apply then.

But about the SAT scores and the transcript, what should I do about those?

Thanks for all the help!

You should try to get all your records to match the way your name is shown in official documents such as your passport.
