Looks like they're putting Digital Cultures and Creativity students in Queen Anne's hall, for those prospective freshmen interested.

Upside - AMAZING dorm, AMAZING location, and the fact that there's other students in your program makes it easier to bond with freshmen (whereas before the downside to living in Queen Anne's was that there was a lot of upperclassmen/sophomores). Whereas before honors students living in Denton, etc. could apply to Queen Anne's for sophomore year housing, now the only sophomores able to stay there will be current freshmen living in Queen Anne's who want to return next year.

Downside - Well, a downside for all of the other honors students!!!

My son is interested in this program. Does anyone have any info about it that might expand on what is on the web site? What makes this dorm so great? How does it compare to the other dorms used for Honors? Thanks.

Queen Anne dorm is a air conditioned, Denton is not. The building itself is much smaller (only 3 floors plus a basement). Denton is 8 floors, I believe. The rooms in Queen Anne are much bigger in size compared to the rooms in Denton. However, Denton has a kitchen. If you live at Queen Anne and want to cook, you have to go next door to Anne Arundel. Also, Queen Anne is available during the holidays, Denton shuts down. These are some basics from DS, perhaps others can add to it. Not sure if Denton has a front desk, but Queen Anne’s does.

Queen Anne’s is located centrally on the college’s mall - Denton is shoved off in the back corner of campus behind the football stadium. Of course, just because the lawn is prettier doesn’t necessarily mean it’s closer to your classes…distance to engineering classes from Queen Anne’s versus Denton is probably equidistant haha. If you are a humanities or social science major…you can roll out of bed into your classroom from QA.

Architecturally it’s also nicer, with a colonial look, whereas Denton looks more like a bland public housing apartment complex.

So, bigger rooms, nicer inside and outside, pretty and central location on campus (but not necessarily a more convenient location, depending on your major).
