Dilemma! What to do?

Okay so I signed up for these 7 classes - Soccer, AP Govt/Econ, AP Physics, AP Statistics, AP English IV, AP Calc AB (No BC offered), AP French. Well of course, my stupid school always has to screw my schedule over so I kinda have to drop AP French, but my concern is, should I be an office aid 7th period or take an off period?

I really wanna go to top tier schools but there's not much I can do if my school won't make the classes, so will they look down on me or understand my situation?

if you want to attend a top tier school, DO NOT TAKE A PERIOD OFF. it looks lazy, really lazy, unless you have a very good reason. try to schedule another class during that period instead of AP French. 5 AP's a year is plenty, so if you don't want another intense class, take something like art. but it is certainly not a good idea to do nothing for 40 minutes a day, 180 days a year.

The office aid thing is definitely better than a period off, but I think another class (especially something AP, if possible) would be better. Use the time constructively.

I don't necessarily think taking one period off will single-handedly hurt you at all. Take the right schedule so you don't kill yourself. I know plenty of people that had free periods and got into great schools, heck, I was one of them.

I already asked a counselor though about another AP class, but 7th period no APs are offered since it's a conference period.

I could try getting into a computer class? But it'd hurt my GPA doing average level classes =/

I have to be an office aide this year as well...I hate guidance counselors...

I hate how my school has screwed me over every year on advanced classes =/

You should take an off period. I think you don't want to hurt your GPA by taking a class you don't even want to take.

I'm taking 3 AP classes and Band in school. 4th period is free for me(AP Art Hist. canceled).

I have an off period. To make up for it, I'm taking Econ 2(MacroEcon) through a college, Fren 2B(Fren 4) through CSU Sacramento and AP Chem online. I might take Stats 2(Intro to Stats) through UC Berkeley extension, but I'm still thinking about it.

My school allows us to choose our own classes.

My counselor was annoying because he made me sign up for AP phys, but I'll change it with I verify my schedule with him. If I can't, I'll complain frequently and ask the Principal to change my schedule.
